There were projects before this, but this is where everything really started for me. Supervillain was the first identity I created that felt like it became real. Inspired by music I was listening to and the feeling of not belonging, supervillain marked the point where I stopped blindly reaching toward the sounds I loved and started putting together the foundation for one of my own. The sharp little SV logo I had made back then became more than a mark. It gave the community a name, and it gave me one too.

Seven Times

A reunion with a musical brother in Seven9 turned into a fan favorite collab project from us, almost by accident. He ran through some beats on a call, I picked what moved me, and randomly, we had the idea to turn it into a moment. I would put all the songs I made on those beats on one project fully produced by him: Seven Times. Most of it came together within a month. For us, Seven Times was a return to brotherhood. Things had been a bit rocky for a while for us up until then, but it all came to a head in a beautiful way. The title imagines the moment when we and everybody around us finally arrive at everything we've been chasing. Sometimes that moment still pushes me, even though it feels distant.

Ethereal

The cover kind of gives it away before the music even starts: I was alone here. After falling out with some people I trusted and being exiled from a collective we'd formed together, I wanted to prove I needed nobody. So the album became featureless by design and perfection became something for me to chase. I thought being great on my own would erase how I felt underneath it. It didn't. I still don't really like this album, but I respect where it sits in my history.

Out Of
This World

I first planned this album in 2021, then I watched it fall apart before I could finish it (I got grounded…). I made myself a promise when I had to sit with the loss: when I came back to Out Of This World, it would be the biggest album I'd made. The cover was inspired by Everything Everywhere All At Once, and it pulls different versions of me from different periods into one place. In the music, I tried to do the same. I wanted to bring the strongest parts of every version of me forward and create something new. Moonwalker was a pack of songs I had left after the album that I knew were better released than withheld. Together, they closed the Supervillain Era. Supervillain isn’t gone, but his reign has come to an end.

After Out Of This World, the destination was originally supposed to be Visions of Paradise (the source of the title ‘Visionary Era’). I finished it. Transitions and everything. Then, the release plan around it collapsed in front of me and the record had to sit in limbo for months. Eventually, I didn’t see a way forward so I moved on. Then came Don't Bury Me Yet. I got deep into that album too. Then, shit hit the fan again. A really bad breakup shifted my grip on everything. Suddenly, there was more to say sitting in my heart than I could contain. In about a month, the album poured forth. The Most Beautiful Life is the beginning of the Visionary Era: more intention in the music, the covers, the symbols and the world around all of it. “The Purple One” gave me a new name. Purple, my favorite color, finally became a part of the language of the world. I’m excited for the future.
